Living Adderstone House, Adderstone, Northumberland 1861.Governess and 8 servants. Living Berrington Hall, Eye, Herefordshire, 1871 10 servants. Bloxsome, Oswald, 1802-1886.Bloxsome arrived in Sydney in August 1838. He held a government post managing funds for the Anglican Church and schools. He took up sheep grazing land in New England. In 1844 he built 'The Rangers', a homestead in Mosman, N.S.W. on Joseph Moore's 40 acre grant, in which Oswald Brierly painted a fresco of H.M.S.Rattlesnake in a squall.[Early homestead, Sydney, N.S.W.] [picture] / [Oswald Bloxsome][ca. 1850] 1 drawing : pencil ; 16.4 x 23.7 cm.
